10-17-2024 - Good Morning! I got a nice view of the International Space Station as it passed over Wichita Falls this morning at 6:18 AM. It was a chilly 42 degrees outside at that time. It might dip lower before it starts to climb. A Natural Grocers trip is the only item on my schedule for today. So far. Since I started on January 1, 2024, I have contacted 370 parks in the Amateur (ham) Radio Parks on the Air® program using trusty Morse code. At the moment, I'm listening to CW (Morse code) on the 40-meter band, and I hear a ham with the chirpiest signal I've ever heard. My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready!

10-16-2024 - I took a short hike this afternoon, accompanied by my Yaesu IC-V80 handheld radio. I also had several items of dog repellent: spray, a stinger from a 5/8 wave VHF antenna that I call my dog slicer, and my trusty S&W revolver with #9 buckshot as the first round in case the first two methods fail. As for the Yaesu, I contacted two local hams on 146.520 FM simplex.
