There are no locally scheduled radio events, but I'll be looking for a few contacts in the Amateur (ham) Radio Parks on the Air® program. My coffee is ready!

11-06-2024 - I made contact with AB9CA at Dixon Springs State Park (US-0989) in Illinois on 20 meters (14 MHz) CW (Morse code) in the Amateur (ham) Radio Parks on the Air® program.

11-06-2024 - From the City of Wichita Falls: "The City of Wichita Falls will dedicate the new Futsal/Basketball courts and celebrate Bridwell Park with a block party on November 9, 2024. The event will take place at Bridwell Park on Harrison between 11th Street and North Ave. C from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm." From Ra7dio3: Having never heard of Futsal, I had to look it up. It's not for me. I'm holding out for another Quidditch tournament! Not really.

11-06-2024 - Construction continues on Old Iowa Park Road from I-44 to City View Drive on what TxDOT describes as "Pedestrian, Sidewalks & Curb Ramps." The TxDot website says construction will begin within 4 years, but this project has been underway for some time now.

11-05-2024 - I'm on my third cup of coffee while listening to CW (Morse code) on the 40-meter Amateur (ham) Radio band. It's background music. It might be similar to sleep learning, even though I'm awake. I think being immersed in the sounds keeps my speed up.

11-05-2024 - The Clay County Amateur Radio Club holds a weekly practice net on Tuesdays at 8:00 PM on the 146.800 MHz repeater. As far as I know, all licensed Amateur (ham) Radio operators are invited to check in. Of course, scanner radio enthusiasts can also tune in.
