11-08-2024 - According to the American Radio Relay League, Will Costello, WC6DX, will operate from San Nicolas Island - IOTA NA-066 - November 8 - 12, 2024. This is the first Amateur Radio activation there in 53 years. The island, under the control of the U.S. Navy, is described as the most remote of the Channel Islands, off the coast of Southern California. Listen on 6, 10, and 40 meters, mostly SSB.

11-08-2024 - 5:35 AM - Good Morning! It's Friday, and that means different things to different people. I guess it depends on whether or not you're retired. I'm retired, so all the days of the week are the same for me. Checking my list, I see that I've made contact with 395 Amateur (ham) Radio Parks on the Air® stations since the beginning of the year when I started the POTA adventure. The scanner radio is scanning, and the HF radio (Yaesu 857D) is tuned to some CW (Morse code) on the 40-meter band. My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready, and I'm ready for it!
11-07-2024 - From the U.S. Food and Drug Administration - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – 11/04/24 – Sacramento, CA, VitalityVita.com is voluntarily recalling lot 230811, Exp 8/11/25, of VitalityXtra Capsules and PeakMax Capsules packaged in 10-count blisters in a cardboard carton to the consumer level. VitalityXtra was found to be tainted with sildenafil, an ingredient in FDA approved products for treatment of male erectile dysfunction in the family of drugs known as phosphodiesterase (PDE-5) inhibitors. PeakMax capsules was found to be tainted with sildenafil and diclofenac, an FDA approved drug known as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat pain and inflammation. Products containing sildenafil and diclofenac cannot be marketed as dietary supplements. VitalityVita and PeakMax capsules are unapproved new drugs for which safety and efficacy have not been established and, therefore, subject to recall.
