01-07-2024 - I'm on 20 meters trying to log a few more Parks of the Air contacts but the band it is not in good shape this morning. Not yet anyway. UPDATE: The band came alive long enough for me to work WD8RIF in Strouds Run State Park in Ohio - -1994 - on 14.063 MHz. It was a CW (Morse code) contact.

01-07-2024 - The Multi-Use Radio Service (MURS) frequency 151.820 MHz is active at 8:30 this morning. There's not enough traffic yet to tell if it's the usual group that appears to be hunting in the area. It's a little cool out this morning but I guess hunters are going to hunt. As I'm writing this, I hear them again and they do appear to be in the hunting mode.

01-07-2024 - Seen online: How will YOU survive on the day the enemy switches off the internet? Answer: Get a shortwave radio and listen to Amateur (ham) Radio operators on the various ham bands, and you'll be able to keep up with who's who and what's what. Some will be fact, some will be fantasy, and some will be BS, but it's better than nothing!

01-07-2024 - Good Morning! I didn't do much radioing yesterday due to other chores getting in the way. I'm listening to the 1947 kHz crew while my coffee is brewing. The Cowboys and the Eagles play at the same time today, so I'll be flipping channels for a Cowboys win and an Eagles loss!

01-06-2024 - Someone - not mentioning names - has their radio locked in transmit on the 147.140 repeater. It's a good thing they're talking about radios!

Employment continued to trend up in government, health care, social assistance, and construction, while transportation and warehousing lost jobs.

01-05-2024 - Good Morning! I'm listening to the 1947 kHz group talking about the Wichita Falls Public Library, formerly the Wichita Falls Activities Center, formerly a Fedway department store. I remember Fedway from the late 1960s. Fedway once got quite a crowd one morning in response to a newspaper ad promoting a color television for $25.00. The sales staff got a lot of exercise telling people that the ad was a mistake. Anyway, it's 5:25 AM and time for some Folgers Black Silk coffee.
