06-27-2025 - The Federal Communications Commission is investigating a complaint regarding an unlicensed FM broadcast station operating on a frequency of 893 MHz from a property in Bronx, New York. The FCC used direction-finding equipment to locate the station and issued a Notice of Illegal Pirate Broadcasting to the property owner. The notice mentioned that a fine of $2,453,218 was possible. I don't know how they came up with that number, but it probably got their attention.
06-27-2025 - Wichita Falls Ordinance § 78-1 - Shooting or discharging air rifles and air pistols. It shall be unlawful to shoot or discharge an air rifle or air pistol that, by means of compressed air or compressed gas, is capable of discharging shots, pellets or any solid objects that are potentially dangerous to human safety, in such a manner that the shot, pellet or solid object so discharged travels on, along or across any public street, sidewalk, alley or other public property or on, along or across any private property which is not owned or controlled by the person who discharged such air rifle or air pistol. It shall be a defense to anyone charged under this section with shooting such a gun on private property not owned or controlled by him that he had permission of the person who owns or controls such private property. Public ordinances are "edicts of government" and have no copyright protection.
06-27-2025 - According to a Texoma's Home Page story, Grubbs Family of Dealerships has acquired BMW of Wichita Falls. I didn't know we had a BMW of Wichita Falls. I know Joe Pistocco sold BMW, and that carried over to Patterson's when they acquired Joe Pistocco and continued when Foundation acquired Patterson's. I didn't think we had a stand-alone BMW dealership in Wichita Falls, although I'm sure it was an extension of Foundation and Patterson's. I might know this if I had BMW money.

06-26-2025 - The year was 1974. The location was the snack bar at McCully Barracks (Army), Wackernheim, Federal Republic of Germany. The occasion was lunchtime. I had decided to skip the chow hall. At my table and feeling a little mischievous, I loosened the cap on the salt shaker as a favor for the next customer. For the evening meal, I decided again to skip the chow hall and dine at the snack bar once more. I sat at the same table and dumped the salt on my food. Lesson: salt is bad for you!
