08-14-2025 - 6:00 PM - The Local Group is on CB Radio Channel 23. Earlier today, several oversized loads passed through town on Channel 19. The DX Channels were very busy this afternoon, but the band is quiet now, making local communications easier.

08-13-2025 - 6:15 AM - Good Morning! It's Wednesday, and I have nothing scheduled for today. Tomorrow, the rest of the Wichita Falls ISD goes back to school. As you might know, Hirschi Middle School started on the 4th, ahead of the rest of the district. What does it all mean? It means increased WFISD radio activity for handheld radios on 151.940 MHz and the school buses on 152.360 MHz. Tune in with your scanner radio. My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready.

08-13-2025 - 8:00 AM - The CB Radio band is open for business, with many of the 40 channels busy. At this point in the current Solar cycle, CB Radio is the skip-shooter's domain.

08-13-2025 - 9:30 AM - It appears that the City of Wichita Falls will purchase the Kirby Middle School building on Loop 11, and at some point in the future, the Wichita Falls Police Department will relocate there. The first crime they might investigate is why Loop 11 is called a loop when there’s not a hint of a loop in it.

08-13-2025 - 10:00 AM - I was checking the 20-meter Amateur (ham) Radio band for some Parks on the Air® stations to work, but the band is a little flat right now. I'll check back later.

08-13-2025 - 4:00 PM - I'm watching the Texas Rangers game while listening to the jam-packed CB Radio Channel 38 (lower sideband). A lot of contacts are being made there this afternoon. CB Radio is your only choice for license-free, long-distance communications.

08-13-2025 - 6:00 PM - The Local Group is on CB Radio Channel 23, as they have been nightly for years. Tune in or join in.

According to average death rates, you can expect 34 deaths per year at that population level. There are old people at Allred, but some people die young.

Every Summer morning should start like this - cloudy, wet, and cool. My Folgers Black Silk coffee is ready.

This building houses offenders in need of protective custody and includes some very feminine offenders. It was count time and the officer had the occupants of the day room in one of the sections lined up for count. Just as he was about to start, a puddle of water near the stairs caught his attention. Someone in line with a very feminine voice said "Somebody's water broke, Boss!" Read more Wichita Falls Allred Unit snippets here!

08-12-2025 - 8:00 AM - The CB Radio is alive with local and national traffic this morning. The skip-shooters (DXers) will probably have a good day. Remember, the FCC-imposed 155-mile limit on contacts was removed back in 2017. So, you can talk as far as you want with your 4 watts output! You can laugh now!
